Leading voices in climate resilience, agriculture, and nutrition gathered in Karachi for the Annual Conference on Climate Change, Agriculture, Human Nutrition & Development in Pakistan. Hosted by the Aga Khan University’s (AKU) Institute for Global Health & Development (IGHD) in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Pakistan, the event united policymakers, researchers, and community members to address the mounting impacts of climate change in Pakistan and globally. The conference inaugural session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman, Higher Education Commission, Islamabad and along with other renowned scientists/researchers from Consortium on Climate Change, Sustainability & Conservation (CCSC), Prof. Dr Wajid Nasim Jatoi, Director, International Center for Climate Change, Food Security & Sustainability (ICCFS) & Professor at Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture & Environment, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) participated as National Speaker to talk on “Drought and Salt Stress on Crops in Pakistan; Potential Solutions”. Such events bring the researchers/scientists and other stakeholders to discuss about the challenges and their possible solutions to be addressed to relevant authorities for further implementations and betterment of community’s nature-based solutions as well.
