2nd International Conference on “Green Agriculture for Future Harvests” being organized by Department of Agronomy, Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan (Pakistan) to promote sustainable, climate-resilient, and technology-driven agricultural practices for future food security. Prof. Dr. Gerrit Hoogenboom (University of Florida, USA) chaired a scientific session and delivered a technical talk focusing on green agriculture and future challenges in sustainable farming and also chair/inaugurated the International Workshop on “Application of Crop Simulation Models for Sustainable Crop Production and Food Security” under the DSSAT (Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer) simulation tool crop modeling tool. He emphasized that such tools are essential for improving decision-making, enhancing resource-use efficiency, and addressing climate-related challenges. Prof. Dr Wajid Nasim Jatoi (Director, International Center for Climate Change, Food Security & Sustainability ICCFS), The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) was invited as National Guest Speaker for Conference & Master Trainer for “DSSAT International Training Workshop” under the leadership of founding researcher of DSSAT Model (Prof Dr Gerrit Hoogenboom). The workshop has attracted scientists, faculty members, and research scholars from across Pakistan, who are receiving hands-on training and participating in interactive sessions aimed at strengthening practical skills in crop simulation modeling and agronomic decision-making. At the end, Prof Dr Ashfaq Ahmad Chattha, Vice Chancellor, Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan (Pakistan), expressed confidence that the workshop will contribute significantly to capacity building, knowledge sharing, and the promotion of advanced agrotechnological tools for sustainable crop production and food security and climate smart agricultural interventions in Pakistan.
