On September 3, 2024, the Pakistan Humanitarian Forum (PHF) successfully launched its Annual Report for 2023 in Islamabad (Serena Hotel), marking a significant event that brought together a wide array of stakeholders, including government officials, academia (ICCFS-IUB), international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), UN agencies, and civil society organizations. The event highlighted the critical need for enhanced #humanitarian and #development efforts in response to Pakistan's escalating climate crisis.
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasized the importance of prioritizing human development, investing in human capital, and addressing the challenges posed by #climate #change. He praised PHF for its pivotal role in delivering relief and assistance to over 27.32 million beneficiaries across 152 districts of Pakistan, with a funding volume exceeding 338.08 million dollars.
From academia especially International Center for Climate Change, Food Security and Sustainability (ICCFS), The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr Wajid Nasim Jatoi, participated as Guest of Honor and raise the concerns and challenges of climate change especially in South Punjab-Pakistan at this international forum and quite hopeful for proposed collaboration, cooperation and joint-ventures from international organizations.
