In reference to “Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC)” establish R&D Clusters/Centers on “Climate Change” and six Universities Selected among all Universities in Punjab. The 4th meeting held on 10.03.2026 by PHEC under chair of Prof. Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Chairperson, PHEC and discussed the objectives, activities, roles and finally output of each University in this Cluster. The Bhauddin Zakeriya University (BZU), Multan (Lead University) briefed all the important tasks among members Universities. The partner Universities include University of Agriculture Faisalabad (Prof Dr Abdul Wakil), Government College University, Faisalabad (Prof Dr Tanvir Shahzad), Information Technology University, Lahore (Dr Rehan Ahmed); University of Central Punjab, Lahore (Prof Dr Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh) and from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), Bahawalpur; Prof. Dr Wajid Nasim Jatoi, Director – International Center for Climate Change, Food Security & Sustainability – (ICCFS) presented all the activities, roles and project execution from IUB-Platform during Feb-June 2026. There were excellent remarks by Honorable Chairperson PHEC and directed to execute the activities as presented (immediately) as the proposed and budget approved by PHEC (PKR 10 Million) during this meeting and funds will be transferred Lead University BZU Multan and share of IUB will also be disbursed via BZU Multan for this project/startup/initiative.
