Seminar on "World Mother Earth Day" was conducted at Faculty of Agriculture and Environment on May 17, 2024 being organized by the IUB Climate Change Society and International Center for Climate Change, Food Security & Sustainability (ICCFS) Collebrate with IUB Agrarians Society at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
The seminar commenced with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Wajid Nasim Jatoi, Advisor-IUB Climate Change Society, who highlighted the importance of collective efforts in combating climate change and preserving our planet from plastic for future generations.
Esteemed guests included Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, (Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences) who emphasized the role of scientific research in addressing environmental challenges, Prof. Dr. Tanvir Hussain Turabi (Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment) in his remarks stressed the importance of sustainable agricultural practices, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf (Director of Student Affairs at IUB), encouraged students involvement in climate action initiatives & Dr. Adnan Bukhari (Additional Director of Student Affairs), highlighted the University's commitments to fostering a culture of sustainability among students.
The event also includes poster competition & winners were awarded with "Shields of Honors" by "Guest of Honors" in which students participated with remarkable dedication and devotion. The competition showcased innovative ideas and research on climate action and environmental protection.
